If you’d be interested in experiencing life as many rural Bolivians do you’re welcome to spend any length of time you like in the countryside helping to care for llamas and alpacas on our family farm. Located about 5 hours by bus and a further 3 hour hike away, it’s about as far from civilization as you’re likely to get, and the peace and silence there in the midst of Andean mountains will amaze you. Living here is wonderfully rustic, with one communal tap, no electricity, and cooking on an adobe stove; but it’s amazing what you realize you don’t need when you go without it. To stay is absolutely free of course, besides the bus fare to get there. If you’ve been looking for an authentic Bolivian experience, this is it. Stay in traditional adobe housing, eat typical altiplano food, and enjoy the silence of the countryside.
